We seek a highly motivated quantitative analyst to join our quant team. We are especially interested in candidates who are can demonstrate an aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking. The Quant team at Grasshopper investigates a wide variety of technical and trading problems, so a keen intellect and a voracious appetite for learning are key characteristics.
We are looking for interns who will be able to commit at least 3 months to this role. Working hours can be discussed and there is also the flexibility to extend the internship period or possibility to convert to a permanent position.
The primary responsibility of the role involves end-to-end ownership of the development of quantitative signals and algorithms to assist our trading teams. Throughout the process or development, the quant will work closely with traders to develop trading strategies and be responsible for the design and development of these strategies. After development, the quant will also be responsible for testing and deploying strategies on live markets. Once a strategy is live the quant will be responsible for monitoring and improving the signals or strategies.
The role involves a high degree of coordination and communication between traders and IT team and the candidate should express desire to be involved in both sides of the company. The candidate should have experience in an analytical or mathematical field and strong coding capability, in particular python and/or C++. Experience with ML and knowledge of financial markets is a plus.
