Responsibilities: As a vital member of the Software Development team, you will:

  • Design and develop applications and components for various parts of our trading systems.
  • Utilise your expertise in either C++ or Rust (or both) to write robust and performant code.
  • Utilise Python for various scripting and integration tasks.
  • Continuously enhance our systems to adapt to evolving trading needs.
  • Ensure the smooth operation and reliability of our trading systems.

As an experienced hire we expect you to contribute to the culture of writing code that’s clean, fast and easy to maintain. We expect you to lead by example and help less experienced colleagues grow. To this end, some level of mentoring, support and technical guidance is part of your job. Furthermore, you are expected to be able to drive requirements gathering, coordination with stakeholders and lead and manage projects from start to finish.

Second-Line Support and Collective Responsibility: At Grasshopper, our engineers are crucial in providing second-line support for the systems they write. This means taking ownership of system performance, actively addressing post-deployment issues, and troubleshooting any technical challenges. Additionally, during upgrades and new deployments, our engineers take on first-line support responsibilities, ensuring a seamless transition and promptly resolving any issues that may arise during critical phases.

Interview Process: The interview process at Grasshopper is designed to be comprehensive and fair, allowing us to assess your skills, experiences, and fit within our dynamic team. The typical interview process for the Software Developer (Python/C++/Rust) role includes the following steps:
